The Story Behind the Arches

Founded in 2009 on Amber Road, Gurukul Heritage Academy was born from a simple conviction — that India's children deserve an education as rich in values as it is in ambition.

Our Origin

From a Classroom in a Courtyard

It began with forty-two children and a single hall that once housed the family library of the Agarwal household. Shri Devendra Agarwal, an engineer turned educator, returned to his hometown with a question that shaped everything that followed: why must a child choose between being intelligent and being Indian?

He believed the ancient gurukul spirit — learning by living, values by example, wisdom through practice — could be reimagined for a modern curriculum. With a handful of devoted teachers and the blessing of his family, he threw open the doors of that courtyard hall to the first cohort of Jaipur families who shared his dream.

Sixteen years later, the academy has grown to over 1,800 students, yet the founding spirit remains unchanged: every child is known by name, every lesson is taught with care, and every achievement is celebrated with humility.

Purpose

Philosophy, Mission & Vision

Philosophy

We follow the gurukul ideal of holistic learning — educating the head, the hand and the heart in equal measure, within the framework of a modern CBSE curriculum.

Mission

To nurture confident, compassionate and curious learners who excel academically, honour Indian values and serve their communities with integrity.

Vision

To be India's most trusted school for values-led education — a place where the next generation of thinkers, artists and leaders is shaped with wisdom.

Indian Values

Living Principles, Taught Daily

Our value system draws from Indian wisdom traditions — expressed in everyday school life, not just taught in a period.

Satyam — Truth

Honesty in speech, work and thought, modelled by teachers and practised in daily assemblies.

Kripa — Compassion

Service projects, peer mentoring and empathy circles build kindness into the school day.

Dharma — Duty

Responsibility towards family, school, nation and environment is woven through every project.

Jnana — Wisdom

Critical thinking, reflection and the courage to question are cultivated alongside knowledge.

Student Wellbeing

A Mind at Peace Learns Best

Beyond report cards, we care for the whole child. Every morning opens with yoga and mindfulness in the courtyard. A full-time counselling team supports students and families, while smaller classes mean every child is truly seen.

Daily Mindfulness

Pranayama and quiet reflection to begin each day.

Counselling & Care

A caring team for every emotional season.

Nurturing Ratios

Small class sizes so no child is left behind.

Healthy Food & Play

Balanced nutrition and unhurried free play every day.

Community Engagement

Education Beyond Our Walls

Learning at Gurukul reaches into the community. Students lead heritage walks through Amer, mentor children at partner schools, plant monsoon groves and organise literacy drives for young learners nearby. These are not extracurriculars — they are how character is built.
